Hydrodesulfurization Performance of H+-MCM-41 Supported Catalysts |

The high silica MCM-41 molecular sieve was synthesized with sodium silicate as the source of silica and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a template under hydrothermal condition. The MCM-41 was modified by nitric acid to obtain H+-MCM-41 Both types of MCM-41 were used as support of catalysts for the hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of dibenzothiophene (DBT). Various metal catalysts such as Ni-Mo, Co-Mo, Ni-W and Co-W were homogeneously deposited on the both MCM-41 carriers by co-impregnation method using aqueous metal nitrate solutions. The H+-MCM-41 supported catalysts showed much better performance in HDS of DBT than the MCM-41-supported counterpart. The obtained catalytic samples were analyzed by XRD, XRF, NH3-TPD and TPR. |
