In this study, the potential of two different mesoporous carbons materials, CMK-1 and CMK-3 supported sulfided Mo catalysts for hydrodesulfurization of thiophene at specific conditions was explored to investigate the effect of different pore sizes and channel connectivity on the HDS activity. Mesoporous carbons, CMK-1 and CMK-3 were prepared with MCM-48 and SBA-15 as a silica template and sucrose as a carbon precursor The mesoporous carbons, CMK-1 and CMK-3 were modified with Fe by using Fe(NO3)3.9H2O precursor to produce acid sites. The Mo catalysts supported on mesoporous carbon and modified mesoporous carbon were prepared with (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O. The characterization of the catalysts was carried out by XRD, BET, SEM and EDS. |
