제목 Glycol Chitosan Catechol : Toxicity Alleviated Polycatecholamine Hydrogel for Tissue Adhesion and Hemostasis.
초록 Chitosan is known to have a variety of biological properties such as wound healing, hemostasis, and antimicrobial activity. So far, chitosan and its derivatives have been considered as a biomedical materials. However, the main challenge of chitosan application is that it is not actually used as a biomaterials because of the toxicity. Herein we develop toxicity attenuated hydrogel for tissue adhesion and hemostasis. Glycol chitosan catechol is catecholamine polymer such as chitosan catechol. It has been confirmed that it binds to tissues based on water-resistant mussel adhesion principle, and this hydrogel still shows hemostatic ability similar to chitosan catechol. However, it showed no toxicity in intradermal reaction unlike chitosan catechol and the immune response such as erythema did not observed. Therefore, this biomimetic adhesion hydrogel can alleviate the toxicity of chitosan catechol and can be used as various in vivo materials.
