제목 Morphological Characteristics and Properties of SAN-SiO2 Nanocomposites Prepared by Emulsion Grafting Polymerization
초록 Organic-inorganic nanocomposites have been attracting much attention due to their potential applications. We have developed a new class of organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposites incorporating spherical silica nanoparticles into acrylonitrile-styrene copolymers (SAN) using emulsion grafting polymerization. The resulting nanocomposites demonstrated raising tensile strength, glass-transition temperature (Tg), thermal stability, and showed a good dispersion of silica regardless of particle sizes because of the existence of the covalent bond between SAN chains and silica nanoparticles that increased the compatibility between the organic and inorganic phases.
