| 초록 | Nowadays, we take it for granted that we came to use mobile phones, personal AV entertainments and so on we can easily find in our daily lives. But, let us stop for a moment and ask ourselves what it could be today without liquid crystal display technology. The answer seems to be quite obvious. Most probably, the first mobile phones might have come to the market, equipped with thick and heavy CRT display. In short, we are experiencing a new cultural revolution due to the fast growing mobile technologies such as wireless telecommunication, wireless internet and wireless broadcasting. One cannot emphasize too much on the importance of flat panel display technology in the human history in this sense. In this presentation, the author will shed lights on how chemical industry made contributions to this cultural change by reviewing R &D activities in materials for flat panel display at LG Chem. Furthermore, overview of several selected materials and components will be addressed including technology trends and future challenges. |
