In this study, 1-cyano-trans-1,2-bis-4'-hydroxy biphenyl-ethylene (CN-HBE) and 1-cyano-trans-1,2-bis-4'-carboxy biphenyl-ethylene (CN-CBE) which are based on cyanostilbene structure such as 1-cyano-trans-1,2-bis-3',5'-bis-trifluoromethyl-bisphenyl ethylene (CN-TFMBE) and 1-cyano-trans-1,2-bis-4'-methyl biphenyl-ethylene (CN-MBE), Aggregation-Induced Enhanced Emission (AIEE) active organic fluorophore, were designed, synthesized and characterized. CN-HBE and CN-CBE don't show any enhancement of fluorescence with the addition of non-solvent, water. The fluorescence intensity decreases and their emission maximum peaks are blue-shifted. The spreading behaviors of the cyanostilbene derivatives with various functional groups on a water surface were investigated by a measurements of the surface pressure(π)-surface area(Å) isotherms. The absorbance maximum in LB films exhibits a blue-shift. This is consistent wit H-aggregate formation in the LB films. |
