Measurement of Electrical Rectification Rroperty of a Fullerene Pentaadduct C60H(C6H4 OH)5 Using Conducting Atomic Force Microscope (CAFM). |
초록 |
The penta addition product of fullerene (4-C6H4-OH)5HC60 exhibited pronounced electrical asymmetry at room temperature when measured by (CAFM). When the molecule was deposited over Au(III) substrate by Langmuir-Blodgett technique and a positive bias is applied to the top electrode of CAFM, then the electron flows in the forward direction and negligible current in the reverse direction. The high asymmetry of the current persists more than 80% of the repeated cycles. The device shows through bond electron transfer at low bias voltage range of +1 V and –1 V with rectification ratio (RR) 5-10. This rectification was a consequence of electron transfer from the cyclopentadiene moiety in the fullerene to the rest of the fullerene molecule. The molecule constitutes a unique class of donor-acceptor system in which the HOMO and LUMO levels are on the same fullerene cage making the molecule a true Unimolecular rectifier. |
