Preparation and characterization of calvarial bone scaffold composed of gelatin/tricalcium phosphate using γ-ray irradiation |
초록 |
A biodegradable composites which were composed of a mixture of gelatin (G) and tricalcium phosphate (T) by radiation-crosslinking process of gelatin for the purpose of a bone substitute. The biological response of rat calvarial bone to GT composite was examined to evaluate its potential as a biodegradable and osteoconductive bone substitute. The GT mixture was irradiated 50 kGy in the range of 10 kGy/h dose rate. The GT composites then were frozen at -75℃ for 24h, and then dried in a freeze dryer for 48h. The GT scaffolds were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and universal testing machine. The rat calvarial bone cell was seeded and cultured in GT scaffold. Longitudinal section of paraffin blocks were prepared and stained with H&E. |
