Effective sensing of biomolecules in the media has many challenging issues. Among them, blocking non-specific interaction with biomolecules and having a high affinity to the target molecule may be the most important requirements for high performing sensors. In our previous work, we reported promising results in bioinert and functional multilayer films. In this study, we applied those functional coatings to the colloidal magnetic particles. These functional coatings are consisted of poly(allylamine hydrochloride) and poly(acrylic acid) with a fine tuning of the assembly condition. The coatings on the magnetic particle provide bio-inertness and allow to introduce bio-active molecules on the surface by bio-conjugation. We applied this system to micro-fluidic device and test some antigen detections. |
