Effect of Ni Nanoparticles on Hydrogen Storage Behaviors of Ultra-microporous Carbon Derived from Poly(vinylidene fluoride) |

In this work, we have prepared ultra-microporous carbon (UMC) derived from poly(vinylidene fluoride) by pyrolyzing process. And nickel nanoparticles (Ni) are introduced on the UMC surfaces as a function of Ni content, in order to enhance the hydrogen storage capacity. The microstructure of Ni loaded UMC (Ni/UMC) are investigated by XRD and TEM measurements. The Ni loading weight is confirmed with AAS. Textural properties were analyzed using nitrogen adsorption isotherms at 77 K. The hydrogen storage capacity of the samples is evaluated at 298 K and 100 bar. From the results, it could be concluded that Ni nanoparticles played an important role in hydrogen storage characteristics due to the hydrogen spillover effect. |
