제목 Synthesis and Characteristics of Snowman-like Fluorescent PMMA Microbeads
초록 In recent years, much attention has been focused on the synthesis and characterization of anisotropic particles, the physical and chemical properties of which are much different from the isotropic particles and playing important role in molecular recognition, self-assembly and microfluidics. We report a simple and effective method for fabrication of fluorescent snowman-like poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) colloidal particles by a two-step method. The fluorescent cross-linked PMMA seeds were firstly synthesized via a dispersion polymerization and then swelled by a monomer solution including MMA monomer, a secondary cross-linker, and initiator, followed by polymerization by heating. The obtained particles were characterized by SEM, CLSM and FTIR, all confirming that the fluorescent snowman-like particles were successfully synthesized.
