In this study, mesoporous carbons, CMK-1 and CMK-3 were prepared with MCM-48 and SBA-15 as a silica template and sucrose as a carbon precursor. The Mo catalysts supported on mesoporous carbons were prepared with (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O. For comparison, commercial activated carbon (Darco G-60) and alumina (γ-Al2O3) were used as a support for Mo supported catalysts in thiophene hydrodesulfurization. Mesoporous carbon supported catalysts showed the higher activity than activated carbon and alumina supported catalysts. The characterization of the catalysts was carried out by XRD, BET, SEM, TEM, EDS, and FT-IR. |
