Lanthanide-doped Upconversion Nanoparticle Hybrid with Gold for Cancer Treatment by Plasmon-enhanced Upconversion Luminescence |
초록 |
Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNP) represent promising agents in biomedical applications due to their photostability, tunable emission band, and low cytotoxicity. However, the intrinsically low quantum efficiency have restricted their viable applications. The integration of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) has been considered as a promising way to overcome this limitation. Herein, we prepared the Au NR@TiO2 decorated with UCNP to utilize the phototherapy by plasmon-enhanced UCL. TiO2 shell not only used for spacer between plasmonic nanostructurs and UCNP which could inhibit the quenching effect , but also directly used as inorganic photosensitizer to overcome the limitation of conventional organic photosensitizer. In presence of UCNP, the emitted UV light was proposed to excite the TiO2 semiconductor and play a key role in the generation of cytotoxic reactive oxygen species. Furthermore, LSPR-induced photo-thermal effect was utilized for achieving the photothermal therapy. |
