제목 Neutron Studies on the Nanoscale Assembly of Soft Matters for Functional Polymer Platforms
초록 Our current interests in the CRI center have been mainly placed on the development of functional polymer platforms whose internal nanoscale arrangements of components involved are the ones of key factors governing the performance of energy harvesting and biomedical devices. In order to characterize such polymeric nanostructures and assembling processes, we have performed both SANS and NR, which have spatial resolutions ranging from a few to thousands of nanometers. In this presentation, several examples will be given to demonstrate the power of neutron-based characterizations: SANS analysis on the polymer-assembled structures of organic solar cells and the fibrillation kinetics of amyloid-like proteins and NR measurements on the stimuli-induced changes in the internal structure of polyelectrolyte multilayer films. These fundamental characterizations, based on both SANS and NR, would give us new insights on the design of functional polymer platforms for a host of potential applications.
