제목 A-D-A type Small Molecular Donors having TIPS-BDT core for High Open Circuit Voltage Organic Photovoltaic Cells
초록 To improve the performance of the OPVs, in this study, we designed new A-D-A (Acceptor-Donor-Acceptor) type small molecular donor materials based on the electron donor unit of 4,8-bis(triisopropylsilyl)benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene (TIPS-BDT) with different electron acceptor units. We characterized the chemical structure, electrochemical, and photophyscial properties of small molecular donors by NMR, CV (cyclic voltammetry), and UV-vis spectroscopy, respectively. We also examined the relationship between photovoltaic performance and active materials with variation of terminal units. The OPVs based on a mixture of synthesized small molecular donor materials and PCBM as an active layer showed variable PCEs by terminal units and morphology effect. Especially, TIPS-BDT based A-D-A type small molecules showed extremely high Voc value over 1.1 V due to the very deep HOMO energy level as low as -5.6 eV.
