Organic Photovoltaic Cells have attracted considerable attention in recent years due to their low cost, light-weight, flexiblity and fabrication by solution process. Donor-Acceptor (D-A) copolymers is good choices for polymers of OPVs, because their structural backbone and electronic behavior could be tailored by combination of different π-electron-rich (donor) and π-electron-difficient (acceptor) moieties. We choose Benzo[2,1-b;3,4-b0]dithiophene (BDP) as donor, phenazine as acceptor. BDP is attractive for use due to its structural symmetry and rigid fused aromatic system properties which can enhance electron delocalization and improve charge mobility We changed single thiophene spacers as bithiophene spacers. Bithiophene units are more electron donating than a single thiophene repeat unit which could increase the intramolecular charge transfer and also help in increasing the electronic delocalization. In this study, we synthesized polymer PBDP-Phz using stille coupling reaction. The synthesized polymer is showed physical, optical, electrochemical and photovoltaic properties. |
