In this study, Organic-Inorganic composite particles were produced with diverse morphologies by seeded polymerization. To obtain various morphologies of composite particles, polymerization rate of monomer was controlled by modulating with type of initiator and polymerization temperature. 2,2-azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN), V-70, and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) were used as a initiator. In addition, in order to introduce phase separation between seed particle and monomer, semi-interpenetrating networked particle was used as a seed. The polymerization procedure and surface morphology were observed by utilizing an optical microscope (OM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). |
