제목 | Augmented Mechanical and Biological Characteristics of PLLA Composites through Surface-modified Magnesium Hydroxide with Oligo(lactide-co-caprolactone) |
초록 | The most commonly used biodegradable polymer in biomedical material is poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA). However, it has some drawbacks such as low hydrophilicity, slow degradation and acidic degradation product. In addition, the in vivo degraded acidic by-products can lead to noninfectious inflammatory response in the body. Incorporation of magnesium hydroxide (MH) into PLLA can improve the mechanical properties and inflammation suppression by pH neutralizing effect during hydrolytic degradation. In this study, we prepared the PLLA composite containing surface-modified MH with oligo(lactide-co-caprolactone) (OLCL) to improve the mechanical and biological characteristics of the organic–inorganic hybrid composite. It is suggested that the modified MH can provide an effective means to develop optimized biomaterials including stents. |
