Quantum dots are one of the promising candidates as an emissive material in display or solid-state lighting. Herein, aqueous quantum dots are especially focused on because not only they can be easily synthesized in large scale under mild condition, but also they are environmentally friendly. In addition, they are advantageous in improving luminous efficiency of light-emitting device because they can be fabricated by orthogonal solvent to prevent re-dissolve other organic layers. In this study, aqueous CdTe quantum dots were successfully synthesized to show controllable emission wavelengths in the region from green to orange, with average 40 nm of full width at half maximum. The film formation of aqueous CdTe quantum dots on glass/ITO/PEDOT:PSS was conducted and verified by scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer and fluorescence spectrophotometer. As a result, it may be said that we confirmed the possibility of aqueous CdTe quantum dots based light-emitting diodes. |
