It is well known that blending of poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA) and poly(D-lactic acid)(PDLA) forms a stereocomplex crystal, which has different crystal structure from those of homopolymers. In this study, we reports that addition of poly(DL-lactic aicd)(PDLLA), which is amorphous polymer, to PLLA/PDLA blend suppresses the formation of homopolymer crystals and enhances the formation of stereocomplex crystal. The blends were prepared by solution bending method. The blend samples, annealed at various temperatures, were characterized by DSC and XRD. Binary blend of PLLA/PDLA(50/50) has both crystals of homopolymers and stereocomplex. On the other hand a ternary blend of PLLA/PDLA/PDLLA(25/25/50) contains only stereocomplex crystal without homopolymer crystals. |
