Many different types of alternative high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane have been studied. Polybenzimidazole(PBI) is a relatively low cost non-perfluorinated basic polymer easily doped with strong acids to form a single phase polymer electrolyte. In this study, PEI-SiO2/PBI composite membrane, with various PEI-SiO2 contents from 0% to 6% was recast. As-prepared nano-particle PEI-SiO2 were identified by TEM, BET, XRD, TGA, and FT-IR. Proton conductivity of as-made composite membranes was measured using a four-point probe AC electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. |
