제목 Bacterial Cellulose from Gluconacetobacter xylinus Tagged with Magnetic Nanoparticles on the Surface
초록 Magnetic nanoparticles of 100∼500 nm in diameter were synthesized by controlled chemical co-precipitation method using precursors of FeCl36H2O and FeCl24H2O in alkaline medium at room temperature. The surface of magnetic nanoparticles was treated with tetraethylorthosilicate and further modified into aldehyde group with 3-glycidocylpropyl trimethoxysilane and NaIO4. G. xylinus was bound to the magnetic nanoparticles and FE-SEM image showed that the magnetic nanoparticles were well conjugated to the bacterial surface. Bacterial cellulose was synthesized by G. xylinus in the direction of applied magnetic field, which implies that the positioning or immobilization of microorganisms will be available by a simple surface tagging with magnetic nanoparticles without a significant influence on the bioactivity of cells.
