제목 Hydrogenolysis of glycerol to propylene glycol on Cu-based catalysts prepared using microwave process
초록 The rapidly increased production of biodiesel has led to a drastic surplus of glycerol in the chemical markets. Propylene glycol is one of common materials among various products derived from glycerol. Hydrogenolysis of glycerol to propylene glycol was performed on various Cu-based catalysts prepared using microwave process.
The physicochemical properties of the catalysts were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), NH3 temperature programmed desorption (TPD), BET surface area. The conversion of glycerol with selectivity toward propylene glycol and yield in product was obtained by gas chromatography(GC) measurement.
