The Z scheme system ZnIn2S4-CeO2 on reduced Graphene Oxide was prepared by simple hydrothermal method. The performance of hydrogen production from decomposition of water have been evaluated under visible light illumination. The ZnIn2S4-CeO2 on reduced Graphene Oxide catalyst reveals extended visible light absorption, reduced electron hole recombination rate and enhanced photon generated charge carrier, transfer and separation capability. The Z scheme system ZnIn2S4-CeO2 on reduced Graphene Oxide displayed a maximum photocatalytic H2 generation performance than that of mere ZnIn2S4, CeO2 and their binary system under visible light illumination. The improved H2 generation performance can be attributed to the improved visible light adsorption and efficient charge separation among ZnIn2S4, and CeO2 via the electron shuttle mediator reduced Graphene Oxide. |
