Seed-mediated method is a general procedure for the synthesis of gold nanorods(Au NRs) developed by Murphy et al. and El-Sayed et al. The optical properties of Au NRs are determined by the position of their LSPR peak. So it is important to control the aspect ratio that manipulate the position of LSPR peak of Au NRs. However, due to the limitations of the standard seed-mediated procedure, it is hard to control LSPR peak position. So far, previously known LSPR peaks of Au NRs are less than about 1200nm. In this study, we have investigated parameters to tuned in near-infrared range by control their aspect ratio. Hydroquinone as a reducing agent has an effect on growth of Au NRs with varying length. Also, we investigated what reagents in aqueous solution affects Au NR growth with desired aspect ratio. |
