제목 Reaction mechanism of endo-dicyclopentadiene and physical properties of polydicyclopentadiene nanocomposites incorporated with norbornene-based muli-walled carbon nanotubes
초록 Polydicyclopentadiene (poly-DCPD) is a commercially applicable polymer formed through riong-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of its monomer and exhibits excellent impact resistance, chemical corrosion and high heat deflection temperature. In this work, curing process of endo-dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) with different Grubbs catalysts was monitored using FTIR spectroscopy. The changes of the absorption peaks corresponding to the norbornene and cyclopentene groups of DCPD were followed with time to examine the reaction mechanism. To enhance the strength and stiffness of poly-DCPD, multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) were funtionalized with norbornene-based agents and incorporated into poly-DCPD. The mechanical and thermal properties of the resulting nanocomposites were studied by the tensile and dynamic mechanical measurements.
