Improvement of the diffusivity of the liquid electrolyte using silica aerogel as template for photoanode of dye-sensitized solar cells |

One of the factors to improve overall conversion efficiency in DSSC is interfacial contact between TiO2 particles and electrolyte which generally comprises iodide/triiodide. This study was investigated effect of silica aerogels on diffusion of electrolyte at interfacial TiO2/dye/electrolyte in DSSCs. TiO2 based on silica-aerogel pastes were prepared with different weight percentages 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 wt%, respectively. Further these photoelectrodes were sequentially bilayer with commercial pastes P25 TiO2 layer. The surface morphology of the samples were analyzed to examine effect of silica aerogel on surface of TiO2 layer by SEM. The crystallinity and intramolecular structure were confirmed by XRD and XPS. The photovoltaic performance were identified with J-V characteristics. Our results show that the highest photovoltage efficiency was 4.67% with 0.5wt% silica-aerogel in TiO2 based on silica-aerogel photoelectrode. |
