Synthesis and characterization of water-soluble polyfluorene derivatives for resistor-type polymer memory device |

As information technology (IT) has been made progress, organic memory has attracted great attention due to potential application in data storage. In our previous work, memory device fabricated using single component water-soluble polyfluorene-derivative showed good reversible switching performance for non-volatile memory devices. As the reasons for these good performances, we speculated that the SCLC (Space Charge Limited Current) with filament conduction contributed to the switching behavior of memory device and ethylene oxide side group of polyfluorene-derivative also played crucial roles. Based on this motivation, we synthesized novel water-soluble polyfluorene-derivative containing other functionalities by Suzuki coupling with palladium catalysts. In order to characterize the polymer, we analyzed spectral (1H-NMR spectroscopy, UV-vis), thermal, electrochemical properties of the resulting water-soluble polyfluorene derivative. |
