Liquid crystalline epoxies (LCEs) have been focused as thermoset resins with high thermal conductivity. In this work, we synthesized novel LCE series by substituting cyanobiphenyl mesogenic moieties into 2,5-position of diglycidyl terephthalate. Mesomorphic properties of the LCE series were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized optical microscopy (POM). The novel LCE showed an enantiotropic phase transition on heating and cooling procedures. In the poster section, we will discuss more detailed synthetic methods, characterization of LCE series and their thermal properties of LCEs. |
