Gold nanostructures have been widely used to many research fields such as biosensors, optoelectronic devices, semiconductors, as well as memory devices. Among the many lithography techniques, colloidal lithography is one of the simple and cheap method for fabricationg specific shape and array of gold structures in nanoscale. However, it is usually needed an interlayer between colloidal particles and target substrate. Furthermore, other lithographic techniques are not cost effective for fabricating gold nanostructures because they usually require a vacuum process. An aim of our research is to fabricate gold nanostructures in a relatively large area with cost effective using new method, called thermal transfer printing. In this study, we demonstrates fabricating various non-closed-packed gold structures with different feature sizes without interlayer between polymeric colloidal particles and target substrates through thermal transfer printing technique. |
