Dynamical and dielectric properties of polyimide(PI)/organoclay nanocomposites were already demonstrated by several researches. In order for hydrophilic clay to be dispersed in the hydrophobic polymer matrix well, it needs to modify the surface of the clay. In several researches, the NaMMT was organo-modified with many types of intercalation agents. In this work, we prepared PI/clay hybrid without modification by using a water-soluble polyimide precursor. The poly(amic acid) salts(PAS) were prepared based on PMDA, ODA and triethylamine(TEA). PAS is attractive because it is easy to synthesize and is soluble in water, which are beneficial for both the environmental and practical issues. The characters of result materials were confirmed by wide-angle X-ray diffraction, small-angle X-ray scattering and so on. We also discuss effects of precursor types by comparing the properties of polyimide based on water-soluble precursor/clay composites and PAA/organo-modified clay composites. |
