Facial tissue has light weight, softness, strength, and absorbent properties. Generally, softness and strength can be seen as the two most important attributes in tissue paper grades. Surface friction properties can be included to softness component and in the current study it had been done by sensory test. The tests are expected to be effective for evaluating the surface properties of facial tissues. In addition, contact method by using stylus for measuring surface friction has been developed in this study. A KES-SESRU Friction Tester was used for friction tests, appropriate ranges of stylus type, scan speeds and contact force had been selected for the friction tests. Afterwards, the surface friction is determined by the mean deviation (MMD) from the average coefficient (MIU) of friction. |
