제목 Photocatalytically Active Super Liquid Repellent Surfaces
초록 Wetting on solid surfaces has been numerously studied for last few decades. Especially, super liquid repellent surfaces have received attention for their commercial potentials related to various application. Here, I introduce methods to fabricate super liquid repellent surfaces having photocatalytic activity. Those surfaces are realized by applying a new polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) grafting reaction to the surface of metal-oxide photocatalyst by simple illumination. By grafting PDMS brush, surface of photocatalyst becomes hydrophobic, and repels most liquids due to flexible backbone of PDMS. In addition, the photocatalytic activity is remained keeping hydrophobicity stably. This combination of photocatalytic activity and hydrophobic surface effectively improves performances of applications of photocatalysts, e.g. self-cleaning and anti-biofouling surfaces, and opens a door for broader uses of photocatalytic activity with super liquid repellent surfaces.
