Anion Ring-Opening Copolymerizationof 2-Pyrrolidinone with ε-Caprolactam and the Thermal Stability of the obtained Copolymers |
초록 |
Nylon-4 has outstanding modulus and tensile strength. Its monomer can be synthesized from biomass and the polymer has possibility of being converted to a new functional fiber. However, with its low thermal decomposition temperature(Td) which is lower than its melting point (mp), nylon-4 shows poor spinning processability. In this study, we examined the possibility of change in thermal decomposition temperature(Td) through copolymerization of 2-pyrrolidinone and ε-caprolactam. Sodium metal was used as a catalyst and N-acyl pyrrolidinone was used as an activated mononer. Copolymers were analysed by FT-IR and proton NMR. Molecular mass was obtained using intrinsic viscosity and its thermal properties were measured by TGA and DSC. Detailed results will be presented. |
