제목 Alginate-hyaluronate hybrid hydrogels for cartilage regeneration
초록 Hydrogels have been considered useful as a tissue engineering scaffold because they can provide proper extracellular environments to cells to be engineered. Alginate has been widely used to prepare hydrogels for tissue engineering. However, alginate gels typically lack the ability of interaction with cells and alginate is not degradable in physiological conditions. We thus introduced hyaluronate to the alginate backbone and fabricated gels with calcium ions. Hyaluronate is known to be useful for cartilage repair because it is one of the main component of extracellular matrices in cartilage. Characteristics of alginate-hyaluronate hybrid hydrogels such as viscoelastic properties were dependent on the polymer composition and polymer concentration. Chondrogenic differentiation of ATDC5 cells cultured within alginate-hyaluronate hybrid hydrogels was also investigated in vitro. These hybrid hydrogels may find useful applications in cartilage regeneration, compared to alginate gels.
