제목 Fabrication of Biodegradable Polyurethane Scaffolds with Controlled Porous Structures for Tissue Engineering
초록 In this study, we have fabricated the biodegradable poly(ester-urethane)urea (PEUU) foams with porous structure for articular cartilage tissue engineering. The PEUU foams were synthesized from hexamethylene diisocyanate (HMDI) and polycaprolactone triol (PCL). Putrescine and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) were used as chain extender and solvent, respectively. To improve the pore interconnectivity of PEUU foams, we used water-in-oil emulsification method by sonicator. The morphology of PEUU foams was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The chemical structure and molecular characteristics of PEUU foams was analyzed by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). Degradation test of PEUU foams was performed in phosphate buffered saline at 37℃. These biodegradable and flexible PEUU foams demonstrate potential for future application as cell scaffolds in other soft tissue applications.
