제목 Aqueous-microwave assisted synthesis of a non-interpenetrated MOF for room temperature cycloaddition of CO2 and epoxides
초록 A multilinker non-interpenetrated metal-organic framework UMCM-15 has been synthesized using microwave power as an energy-efficient tool and its synergistic catalytic activity with a co-catalyst containing strong nucleophilic anion has been studied for the solventless room temperature cycloaddition of epoxides and CO2. The favoring role of non-interpenetrated pillared structures in materializing room temperature CO2-epoxide cycloaddition reactions were explained by comparing the catalytic efficiencies of three linker extended pillar-layered non-interpenetrated UMCM-15 with its analogous pillared structures built from a single dicarboxylate linkered two- and three-fold interpenetrated ([Zn2(BDC)2(4,4’-bipy)], and [Zn2(NDC)2(4,4’-bipy)]) catalytic systems, respectively. The competency of our microwave assisted UMCM-15(M) catalyst towards the cycloaddition reactions were proved by comparing the catalytic activity of the former MOF with that of the solvothermal synthesized UMCM-15(S). In addition, a plausible reaction mechanism for the synergistic involvement of Lewis acid sites and nucleophiles were suggested.
