제목 Electroconductive nylon 6 composite of moderately functionalized graphene for low percolation threshold
초록 Nylon 6 is a typical engineering plastic which has excellent properties. Appropriate design for optimum electroconductivity by the incorporation of nanocarbons can pave the way to numerous industrial applications as antistatic, electromagnetic shielding, and electroconductive materials. However, it is not easy to disperse nanocarbons finely in nylon 6 matrix, because nylon 6 is polar whereas nanocarbons are hydrophobic in nature. Therefore, a novel strategy to get an optimum conductivity with lower amount of conductive filler is necessary to design a composite of high performance. Moderately functionalized graphenes were utilized to prepare electroconductive graphene/nylon 6 composites which exhibit the best conductivity at low dosages and the lowest percolation thershold. The functionality of the graphenes was modulated by thermal reduction time, and the variation of graphene structure was investigated with elemental analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy.
