제목 Applications of Cu-based core-shell structured catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation to oxygenates
초록 CO2 hydrogenation to oxygenates such as methanol and dimethyl ether (DME) has been getting attractive due to a large reduction potential of greenhouse gas emissions. Although the commercial CuO/ZnO/Al2O3 methanol synthesis catalysts for CO hydrogenation generally exhibited a higher catalytic activity below the temperature of 250 °C, excess water formed by CO2 hydrogenation can deactivate the catalyst by structural deformations and aggregations of Cu nanoparticles. In the present study, the aggregations of Cu-based nanoparticles were successfully suppressed and investigated by introducing the core-shell structured Cu-ZnO nanoparticles encapsulated with SiO2 shell layers for a direct conversion of CO2 to oxygenates.
