제목 Structures and Mechanical Properties of Acrylic Polymer/ Montmorillonite Nanocomposite Hydrogels
초록 Polymer hydrogels are crosslinked, three-dimensional hydrophilic polymeric networks that swell but do not dissolve when brought into contact with water. Because of water-absorbing, soft and stimuli responsive property, they can be used in vary applications However, hydrogels have many limitations on application due to the random nature produced by the crosslinking reaction. Montmorillonite (MMT) is a natural clay mineral which has a large layer space and has some excellent properties such as good water absorption, swelling and drug-carrying ability. Using MMT in place of organic crosslinking agent reformed the inhomogeneity of the network structure of the hydrogel, resulting in the improvement of mechanical properties. In this study, we prepared a new type of polymer hydrogel, nanocomposite (NC) hydrogel. These gels show remarkable improvements in mechanical properties. Moreover, the microstructure of NC gels can be controlled by the chemical structure of the monomer.
