Solid oxidant is used in solid rocket propulsion agent or explosive, it should have purity, high charging efficiency, a suitable crystal size and distribution. The properties were controlled by a solvent and crystallization method.DNAM has a low sensitivity, and has a more explosive power and thrust than PSAN and HTPB. As oxygen balance is 18.42%, probability of incomplete combustion is low. But, DNAM has a difficult to control crystal size and storage. For increasing purity and charging efficiency, it is necessary to control of the crystal size, spheronization, and remove the crystal defects. This study conducted basic investigation of DNAM re-crystallization using a Cooling and Drowning-out crystallization. We investigated optimum crystallization method and solvent through a crystal form and qualitative analysis. Crystal form is measured by optical microscope, we carried out DNAM quantitative, qualitative measurements using a experimental apparatuses. Such as DSC, TGA, XRD, RAMAN. |
