Time-dependence on the rheological properties of the linter based cellulose solutions was studied. To produce the cellulose fiber with desired properties, it is very essential to understand the rheological characteristics of these systems. Most cellulose fibers were prepared by dry jet-wet spinning of the cellulose solution in N-methyl morpholine N-oxide (NMMO) hydrate. Linter-based cellulose solution was prepared by melting the linter-based cellulose in which the weight average degree of polymerization is around 1,000 in NMMO monohydrate. N-propyl gallate was added to increase the thermal stability of the solution. The rheological properties of the linter-based cellulose solution showed the time dependence. Time-dependence on the rheological properties was influenced by shear rate, temperature, concentration, and the contents of n-propyl gallate. |
