Synthesis of Electro-optical Poly(thiophene/3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) Core/shell Nanocomposites using Two Step Fe3+- catalyzed Oxidative Polymerization |

Poly(thiophene/3,4-ethylenedioxy thiophene) core/shell nanocomposites were prepared using poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS) as a polymeric surfactant by two step Fe3+-catalyzed oxidative polymerization in aqueous medium. The particle size of poly(Th/EDOT) core/shell nanocomposites dispersions was analysed by capillary hydrodynamic fractionation(CHDF). The morphology of poly(Th/EDOT) core/shell nanocomposites was observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM), proving the core/shell structure of nanocomposites. The electrical properties of nanocomposites were investigated using 4-point probe method. Also the optical property and thermal stability of the nanocomposites were measured by photoluminescence spectroscopy(PL) and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). Poly(Th/EDOT) core/shell nanocomposites can be applying to electrical devices such as electrostatic discharge, solar cell, OLED and transistor. |
