Various studies are under way to simultaneously detect kill infectious and resistant bacteria. Among them, combining silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with fluorescence material is expected to have excellent antibacterial activity and bacteria sensing ability. However, the Forster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) limited this application due to the disappearance of fluorescence. Thus, we designed AgNPs combination with cationic fluorescence carbon dots (FCD) through catechol crosslinking, and generated bacteria detection via electrostatic interaction between the negative charge of the bacteria and positive charge of nanoparticles. This material exhibited fluorescence quenching when bind with bacteria and showed excellent killing effect against E.coli and S.aureus. Therefore, this system will be a promising approach for future detection and killing of bacteria. |
