For the fabrication of remote-controllable switch, a dendronized polynorbornene (denpol) is newly designed and successfully synthesized using azobenzene-based macromonomers. To understand the details of molecular packing structures, we employed the 2D wide angel x-ray diffraction (2D WAXD) and the uniaxially oriented denpol film has three different layered hierarchical superstructures according to temperature. To demonstrate the photoactivated mechanical bending, a denpol free standing film was fabricated by melt scraping process. In the fabricated denpol films, the azobenzene mesogens were aligned parallel to the film normal direction. When UV light is irradiated to the film surface, the ADP film induces anisotropic volume contraction and bent away from the light source. We also fabricated a wireless switches composing the light-switchable logic devices. This work was supported by the BK21 Plus, the BRL 2015042417, Mid-Career Researcher Program (2016R1A2B2011041). |
