Novel carboneous materials were synthesized template by monodisperse, hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles. Hollow mesoporous nanoparticles were prepared using polystyrene colloidal particles as a sacrificial core template. These as-prepared, hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles were impregnated with various carbon precursors such as sucrose or furfuryl acid. Then, the silica-carbon precursor mixtures were carbonized via heating under nitrogen condition. The silica framework was chemically etched using aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. The final carboneous materials were investigated using transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron micrscopy and cyclic voltammetry. |
