Improvement in scratch resistance of PMMA by titania sol modified with organoalkoxysilane |
초록 |
Hard-coating materials for improving the scratch resistance of PMMA surface were prepared by sol-gel condensation and surface-modified titania sol. Titania sol was modified with organoalkoxysilane of various compositions to form the hard-coating film of hybrid. Functional groups of surface-modified titania sol increase the possibility of chemical bonds formation between modified titania sol and a substrate resulting in the improvement of adhesion strength. The hard-coating film, which was obtained by thermal curing, was highly uniform and transparent. Fourier transform infrared spectrometer was used to analyze the variations in chemical bonds of condensation products of sol-gel reaction. Surface hardness of hard-coating materials was evaluated by pencil hardness test. The scratch resistance of PMMA was varied depending on the organoalkoxysilane composition. |
