Hollow Silica/Titania Hybrid Microspheres Based on Norbornene Beads and Their Photocatalytic Activity |
초록 |
Many research groups have previously focused on the application of heterogeneous photocatalytic technologies such as TiO2 composites for the treatment of hazardous compounds. Excellent photocatalytic properties of the TiO2 composites are believed to originate from the low recombination rate of photoexcited electron-hole pairs and large reaction areas. In this work, we introduced SiO2 to decrease the recombination rate of photoexcited electron-hole pairs as well as hollow structure to increase the photoactive reaction area. Preparation of SiO2/TiO2 hybrid microspheres was based on the norbornene beads with triethoxysilyl moieties. Titania precursor and polyelectrolytes were then coated onto the beads alternatively by the layer-by-layer deposition. After thermal treatment, we could obtain SiO2/TiO2 hybrid microspheres with various ratios. With the increase in TiO2 content in the SiO2/TiO2 hollow spheres, photocatalytic activity also increases. |
