A Study on the Physical Properties of Monolayer Langmuir-Blodgett Films of Graphene Oxide |

Nowadays one of the newest trend in many engineering fields is producing cheaper equivalents for expensive inorganic materials in silicone industry and many studies have been done with organic materials but mostly with expensive chemicals such as phospholipid. With this experiment we tried to broaden the study towards non-linear organic chemicals such as graphene oxide, a sheet structured chemical. We investigated a physical properties for Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of graphene oxide. The LB ultra-thin films of graphene oxide was deposited by the LB method on the indium tin oxide(ITO) glass. We formulated single layered graphene oxide Langmuir-Blodgett films with various concentrations and obtained the Surface tension(π)-Areas and Atomic Force Microscope images of those to conclude the optimal concentration of graphene oxide for LB film is 3.9x10-3 g/mL. |
