제목 Interpenetrating polymer network hydrogels based on PEG-DA and pHEMA for mechanically enhanced artificial cornea.
초록 Hydrogels are attractive materials for biomedical applications due to their versatility and excellent biocompatibility. Also, It is a hydrophilic and crosslinking polymeric materials capable of absorbing a large amount of water while maintaining a three-dimensional network structure. In this experiment, pHEMA (poly( 2- HydroxyethylMethacrylate)) interpenetrated PEG(Polyethylene glycol) hydrogels have been prepared by immersing PEG hydrogels into pHEMA aqueous solution and subsequence irradiation with UV. The mechanical strength of the hydrogel was dependant on the immersing and the UV irradiation time. As a result, the mechanical strength of the IPN(interpenetrated polymer network) Hydrogel was increased 50 folds than bare PEG hydrogel, maintaining high water content (more than 70%).
